Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program ( What's this?) Customer Video Review Length:: 0:42 MinsPrevious to getting this machine I had a 12 year old extra large Maytag top loader. It is a whole new world of doing laundry. Here are a few of the differences: You will save 76% on electric bill, 73% less water used. You have to have a 3 prong grounded outlet, you cannot use and two prong converter it will void your warranty. (I called Whirlpool they told me this). you MUST leave the door open all the time (when not in use as mold and bacteria can grow in there as all the water doesn't drain out when the load is done. Once a month you have to run a "cleaning" mode load. It comes with an Afresh tablet and when it is installed they tell you to run that load first. How long it takes to due a load will about double, well for me it does. If you use the heavy or normal load setting it is over an hour. Delicate is about 37 minutes. It is much more noisy than a top loader. The spin cycle it what it loud and it shakes the whole room if on hard wood floors. I was... Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program ( What's this?) I have always had top-loading washers, and I was skeptical of the front loaders, but after this one, I'm thrilled!Starting with the look, this Amana washer looks like something you'd find on the Starship Enterprise. The front door opens on the right side (swinging open to the left). I don't know if this is a standard, but every house I've been in has the washer hook-up to the left of the dryer hook-up. As a result, the door opens away from the dryer, which allows you to easily move your laundry from washer to dryer without the door getting in the way. Furthermore, this washer is intended to be stackable with its mated dryer. I don't have that dryer, but if you have limited space, this is the solution for you! The washer has many cycles and options to choose from, and all are entered by pressing a large silver button until the indicator light matches the options you want. It is easy to use and intuitive to control (I ran the first loads without looking at... Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program ( What's this?) Front loaders are becoming more popular so we, like most people, have always used a top loader but have considered the switch. This is not an expensive washer compared to others and it is not overly loaded with features. It's square (or cubed) with not a lot of design which is fine. Hookup is very easy with two water hoses, grounded cord and a drain hose which connects with a spring clip. All washers we have owned used a dial to turn to the type of wash you need to use. With this washer you push the main button until the desired type of wash is highlighted. The washer shows the process by a little light next to a label. There is no digital display. We were used to having the buttons and information on the top at the back of the washer. On this machine they are on the front of the washer. One problem is that you can accidently bump a button. Our clothes looked and felt clean. Front loaders take at least a half hour longer then top loaders but are supposed to be... Read more |
