Purchased this washing machine and was calling for repairs within 4 months. The baffle attached to the stainless steel basket cannot withstand the stress of an average load during the the spin cycle and break free. We purchased this washer on May 4, 2011. The bearings went out at the beginning of August 2011. As if that weren't bad enough A&E Factory Service is the company they contract with for warranty repairs. It is now August 30, 2011 and my washer is still not fixed. The washer is obviously crap if it breaks down after 3 months of use and A&E Factory Service is a joke. I had to wait a week for a repairman. I had to wait another week for 2 parts, one of which was never delivered. I had to wait another week for the second part only to find it was damaged. As of today I'm waiting on the replacement part for the damaged part. The repairman said to check the parts for damage so why can't Amana manage to pack the parts so they don't get damaged? I had a customer service rep from A&E actually hang up on me and when I called back she hung up on me again! So please if you want a washer that will break down in 3 months, buy this one. You too can have the joy of trying to deal with A&E... Wow I ordered the Amana washer and dryer last month and love love love the convenience of the efficient front loaders. I feel like I have entered the 21st century for doing laundry. The selection for the type of clothes is easy and adjustable. I feel like our clothes are a lot cleaner and fresher. I was worried that the front loader would be hard to work with but it is fine even without the drawer underneath, it isnt hard to load and unload. And it is very good looking. |
